AFFORDABLE kitchen contracting company?
Looking into redoing the kitchen soon- I have all the new appliances, but I want to reconfigure my cabinets a bit, knock down a wall, and do a center island with barstools. I'm thinking I might want to get some people in to give estimates now, so I know what I am looking at price-wise.
- Do you have to pay to get estimates? - How soon did you get estimates before redoing your kitchen?
If anyone has someone they recommend, that would be great. Please don't recommend a company that does a luxury kitchen makeover for like over 100k, though. This is not a forever home for us. Looking to spend as little as possible, but willing to spend in the 20s at most

My MIL just used Alure for her kitchen and my parents will be using them this summer. Both kitchens were between 35-40k.
No charge for an estimate. Were done in 10 days.

I used LIS Custom and they were really helpful with configuring the design & layout. They also gave us options on price depending on whether we chose custom cabinets or stock. FM me if any specific questions.

We did the kitchen in 3 stages: 1)knocked down wall 2) tile 3) cabinets & new peninsula
1 - don't remember who we used 2 - All Island Tile 3 - Lowes
We were very happy with all 3, and in all, came to probably about $45K.
If this is not a forever home for you, I wouldn't go into this thinking about removing walls and building new islands, because you will not be able to do it (unless you do the work yourselves) for the $20K range. I would reconsider the wall situation, if it's a load bearing wall, that alone could cost you in the neighborhood of $7K.
Think about Ikea, they make great, inexpensive cabinets and kitchen systems.
