Re: After 29 years....

As difficult as it is- just leave her alone. She'll come out and investigate you once she's done investigating the apartment (I guarantee she'll be doing that at night when you're sleeping).

Cats generally hate change. My older girl will hide for days when there's anything "new" going on (when we moved, when I brought home her baby brother, and when we got the dog). The more you coax, the further she'll withdraw.

I have 2 persians- they are wonderful pets and very loving. My girl is a bit more skittish of new things while my boy gets more comfortable more quickly.

Good luck and post pics when you can....!!!

Re: After 29 years....

we made some great progress last night- he was out, coming over to us etc

but then he got stuck in between the stove and the cabinets- around 4am- Jake freed him- and he has been pi$$ed off ever since- like he thinks Jake did it to him

we are also concerned that he might be addicted to cigerette smoke- is that even possible? the girl we got him from smoked so much- 2 packs a day

he is really so cute- I have to upload the pics I took of him after he got groomed

I'll post the pics when I get home from work

he was much better last night- he kept coming over to me - not to Jake- he is mad at Jake-

but he is eating and going to the bathroom - so that's good

I feel bad that he is home alone today

He's beautiful!! I'm sure he'll get over the being stuck thing. Our new cat, Hobbes (avatar) got really mad at my DH for a few WEEKS for putting him into his carrier while he was sick (guess he associated the illness with DH) but now they're best buddies.
