After giving birth did you take naps when your child did?
or do you find it hard to nap and end up doing stuff around the house, etc?
I myself can't sleep while she is, but I think I am going to start taking advantage of it, especially because she wakes up so often at night.

Re: After giving birth did you take naps when your child did?
In the first month from sleep deprivation after my oldest was born, YES i napped when she did, but just for the 1st month.
With my second, NOPE, I have an active toddler, so no napping for me, plus it's rare they go to sleep at the same time.
I am not the type to just lay down and go to sleep I am too much of a type A, I have too much to do!

Re: After giving birth did you take naps when your child did?
nope, never did the whole "sleep when she sleeps thing", I could not just fall asleep during the day...I DID take a long nap a few days after I got home from the hospital....my MIL came over and her and DH watched the baby while I took like a 5 hour nap that was awesome

Re: After giving birth did you take naps when your child did?
Yes - after a couple of weeks, I learned to.
You have to or you will loose your sanity.
Even if you just rest and not even sleep, just have some major down time during nap times. I know reading relaxed me alot, so I would do that.
Cleaning and stuff like that my DH helped me with that, so it helped me more during the day

Re: After giving birth did you take naps when your child did?
Never....seriously I never napped although everyone told me too...my sister literally pried my DD from me when she was about 3 weeks old as I was ready to drop but I only lay down for 15 mins and couldnt sleep.
I am not a big napper anyway so I didnt change when I had my DD.

Re: After giving birth did you take naps when your child did?
Yes for the first 2 weeks. Then he was on a fussiness frenzy and refused to take naps until now at almost 8 weeks. So I could not take naps either.

Re: After giving birth did you take naps when your child did?
In the beginning I was scared even to let him out of my sight.. I didn't even shower if no one was home to watch him..
Now I'm fine and I nap with him..

I totally sleep when she sleeps. I don't feel bad about it at all. I am a napper though and if I don't have enough sleep I am literally a zombie.

Re: After giving birth did you take naps when your child did?
No, I would try to take a nap but then I would start thinking of all the things I needed to get done, so I would get up
My mother would push me into the bedroom and demand that I sleep

Nope, it never happened for me.

Re: After giving birth did you take naps when your child did?
At the beginning when I really needed the rest I never could. Now that she is in a routine I actually find myself enjoying her midday nap by falling asleep for a little while too!

Re: After giving birth did you take naps when your child did?
I tried to, but my son really didn't nap until he was 10 months old.
Saying that, this monday he had a 3 hour nap and I did get my head down for a little kip.

YES!!! That is, after the first few weeks of being able to stop checking her to make sure she was still breathing everytime she would sleep!

Me too. But this is very very rare in our house.
Actually, a slight miracle happened in my house today, DS was awake and chattering and DH said "you sleep, I'll take him" For the first time in his 3+ months of life.
That extra hour of sleep was amazing
