yes....Not so much at forst, cause I felt I had soooo much to do. Now that he is in a rotuine, if Im feeling sleepy, I take a nap with him.

Me too. But this is very very rare in our house.

Actually, a slight miracle happened in my house today, DS was awake and chattering and DH said "you sleep, I'll take him"Chat Icon Chat Icon For the first time in his 3+ months of life.

That extra hour of sleep was amazingChat Icon

With ds #2 I almost always did in the beginning, it was great! However w/ ds #3 I was too busy chasing after ds#2 to nap. So I would definitely take advantage of it if you can.

I havent had a nap in almost 11 yearsChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon j/k its hard after you have more than one child to nap when the baby naps because you have to take care of the other children
I would DEFINITELY take advantage of napping whenever you canChat Icon

Sometimes. When she nursed and fell asleep, sometimes I wouldn't put her down and just fell asleep with her on the couch. Not a deep sleep, just a little cat nap.

She was a nightowl and would stay up from 9pm - 3am, then wake again at 6am for feeding. After that feeding, she'd sleep for a 5-6 hour stretch so I would sleep in with her. I never got up before 11am most of my maternity leave.

Yes, I napped whenever I could. I still often nap with him and he's almost 10 months.

Nope.....my MIL came over and would let me sleep for like 5-6 hours during the day. Ahhhh the good ole days....Chat Icon

SAme here. I found the more I rested the greater my milk supply. I found I had to take a nap evry three days or so when they were still on the feeding every three hours round the clock cycle.

I think I last did that when they were 6-8 weeks old.

Yes - after a couple of weeks, I learned to.

You have to or you will loose your sanity.

Even if you just rest and not even sleep,
just have some major down time during nap times.
I know reading relaxed me alot, so I would do that.

Cleaning and stuff like that my DH helped me with that, so it helped me more during the day

ITA. Everyone told me to so I did. Not everyone of course but I would lay down in the morning. I had to.

Re: After giving birth did you take naps when your child did?

When we first brought him home, I tried to nap when he did but almost never did. Now that DS is 8 wks, I sometimes take naps with him but mostly end up doing things around the house, make calls which need to be made or do some work from home. He never naps for very long so I've learned to utilize the free time as best I can.
