After miscarriage or birth-bleeding
So sorry if TMI
Ok, so I have been bleeding since birth on Nov 18th. The doctors told me that I would bleed for 2 weeks, then after that ended, 3 weeks later I would get my period.
Well, I thought this initial bleeding was stopping, but as of last night I am bleeding regular force with just 2 days of light brownish bleeding before this.
Anyone that has had a miscarriage or given birth, did you get your period right after you bled, did it all just mush into one long period? I am beeding for 20 days at this point.
Obviously I am not nursing, do you get your period faster this way?

Re: After miscarriage or birth-bleeding
I bled after my c/s for about 5 weeks and after my v-birth for about 6 weeks. Really lightly, it was more annoying than anything else.

I got my period 5 days after I stopped bleeding after my D&C. Bled for 18 days, then after birth I bled for a long time. I nursed so didn't get my period until 6mths. after birth.

Re: After miscarriage or birth-bleeding
After my m/c i bled heavily for 3-4 days, then i spotted for 2 weeks after that. Never got AF-got pg right after.
After birth of #1(v birth), I bled for 5-6 weeks, mostly spotting for the last 3 weeks. I was bf'ing so didn't get my AF for 3 months.
Birth of #2-c section-i bled for 4-5 weeks with spotting the last 3 weeks of it. I got AF at exactly 6 weeks PP.

Re: After miscarriage or birth-bleeding
Had v-birth on 11-16 and I am still bleeding lightly. I was told it could last for 6 weeks. I am not BF'ing so I am hoping AF comes soon after my 6 week PP checkup.

Re: After miscarriage or birth-bleeding
I had a miscarriage. I bled lightly for 2 days and then 20 days later, yesterday, it has started full force, (TMI) Like soaking a super tampon in 45 min......Not sure how long its going to last..

Re: After miscarriage or birth-bleeding
I've had four miscarriages, two natural and two with D&C. My last one was natural and I bled for six weeks on and off, sometimes heavy, sometimes spotting. I got my period immediately after (think I had a week break of no blood). The ones with the D&C I barely bled.
I honestly don't remember how long I bled after my c-section but I remember it not being a lot.

Re: After miscarriage or birth-bleeding
So basically what I am getting is that I will bleed for a while now (even though I want it to stop) and when I actually want to get my period again so I can start TTC, it might not come when I want it.

Re: After miscarriage or birth-bleeding
I honestly dont remember specifically how long I bled afterwards or when I got my period..BUT I do remember one timeline...
I gave birth to my first set of twins on March 7, 1993 (these are my angels)..I had a D&C on April 28th caused by a retained placenta...My daughter Ariel was born on January 30, 1994...she was 4 weeks early.
I hope this helps a bit.

Re: After miscarriage or birth-bleeding
My GF bled for a month after her last miscarriage. She had a d/c, the 5 days later got AF. I think it varies. It must be insanely frustrating, but your body is regulating, it WILL get back to normal. Now it's like watching apot of water and waiting for it to boil!

Re: After miscarriage or birth-bleeding
I bled for about 5 weeks after giving birth, but I was BFing so I didn't get my period for a few months. I do know that you can get your period as soon as 6 weeks PP if you aren't BFing though.

Drove her nuts too, she was like OK I'm done, then the next day she would say "It's back!!!!" She only had to have a D/C with the last one,the first 2 she passed naturally. With all she has been through she was about to start again and then called her with some uncertain results. Now they have to wait and do more tests, AGAIN! Poor girl, she wantsso badly to have children. But she is patient as a saint! Did they say it would be red this late in the game?

Re: After miscarriage or birth-bleeding
Post-partum - 6 weeks bleeding, period was 8-10 month later.
Post-miscarriage - 2 weeks of serious bleeding, 7 weeks major spotting, period I'm not sure when.

I've said this everyday to DH for the past week. He thinks he is so close to getting some action...then it shows up again. I do not like this game one bit that my uterus is playing.
for your girlfriend
