After motrin how soon do u usually give tylenol? DS is SO SICK :( :(
This is only the 2nd time DS has been sick so I'm new to this. His fever was 103.8 b/f bed. We talked to the ped who said to give him motrin which we did. The ped said we can give both tylenol and motrin but I didn't think to ask the spacing b/w them. She said 6 hrs b/f motrin again though...does this apply to Tylenol? I'm just worried b/c his fever was so high. Even after an hour it only went down to 102. If he wakes up I want to know when I can give him something else.

I go to Grello pediatrics. Ciro told me that when my kids spike a fever over 102.5 that you can give motrin an hour after giving tylenol. Give tylenol every 4 hours, give motrin every 6 hours, and continue to do that as long as you space the motrin and tylenol an hour apart. So say you give tylenol at 10:00 Then at 11:00 babies fever is 103. So then you give Motrin. Should def go down. Then at 2:00 you can give tylenol again.Don't give motrin again until 5:00. It is confusing at first but you catch on quick. What i did when my kids were that little was write everything down. Just remember every 4 hours tylenol, every 6 hours motrin, space the motrin and tylenol one hour apart.Good luck. I know how hard it is when babies get those high fevers.
