no tylenol, no motrin- NOW WHAT?!?!
DS has been teething terribly and I have been giving him a dose of Motrin at bedtime to keep him semi-comfortable. Last week his started to get an upset stomach which we discovered was a cause of the Motrin so that is now off limits.
DS has never been able to tolerate tylenol - makes him throw up for some reason - so that is out too!
I have tried the Hyland's/Humphrey tablets and they help, but not much.
Last night I resorted to giving him dimetapp before bed to take the edge off of his pain. Ped recommended...
I am at my witts end - 5x wake ups at night is ridiculous for an 18 month old!
I just wish he would get ALL his teeth already and then this nightmare could be over...

oh my....
I know you can give the tablets 2 an hour for up to 6 doses.
Ummm....what about some mild chamomile tea to help soothe him (it doesn't help with the teething, but maybe it'll calm him enough to sleep better).
DD likes to eat watermelon chunks when she is teething. She is pretty good with Motrin though..... but we're still waking up at night.

Re: no tylenol, no motrin- NOW WHAT?!?!
Just so that I know i'm not crazy and haven't been od'ing my DS I give him the 1.85ml dose of the motrin before bedtime...he is 18 months old, and approx 25lbs or so. I tried reducing the dose and that didn't help the stomach upset.
Ped said to stop for a few days and it is possible that the build up of the motrin caused the stomach upset.
Motrin bugs my stomach out so if he feels anything like I do when I take it I feel terrible for him...
