After Party on Bday Party Invites?

We are going to have our son's first birthday at Nunley's on a Sunday from 1-3pm. I'm not sure the guest list but figure 30-40 adults, 10 kids. I wanted to invite people back to our house after Nunley's to watch our DS open gifts and *more* cake and coffee.

Should I put that on the invite or just do word of mouth before and at the party?

I would include it in the invitation because sometimes you are just so busy running around at the party that you might not get a chance to tell people..it might just slip your mind.

I'd do it word of mouth that day. You never know how the day is gonna go or how your DD will be.
I remember after DS's 1st b-day he passed out right after cake (or pretty much on DH). We had it at my parent's so DH brought him up to the crib. Only pple to stay later was my family and IL's. Everyone else left. Especially ones with small kids since they went home to nap

We all hung out eating and chatting and waited for DS to wake up, which took a while.
Wanted him to be up and the family didn't mind waiting around.

Hmmm. I didn't think of the napping thing. That's a solid point for NOT including.

One of the reasons i was considering putting the after party info on the invite was to include directions from Nunley's to my house. If you've ever been over to Museum Row, you know how confusing it is over there. And so I don't forget to invite anyone.

I could always just have directions printed and ready to hand out at the party.

Something to think about.
