Re: Alarm companies??? Who do you use??

We have Slomin's - it's a longer contract but I am happy with the service and the installation was very easy as well.

I contacted Brinks and considered them, the only thing I don't like is that they continue to call me and when I tell them I have Slomin's they then proceed to badmouth them. Now, I don't care about Slomin's, but I don't think that's good business practice.

We use Lowitt. My ILs had them install the alarm 20+ years ago. We just upgraded it this month to a wireless system from the old foil tape on the window system. I should say it's not totally wireless, we have glass breaks on all the windows up and down as well as wired fire & heat sensors and a wired panic button, but the transmitter is wireless so I have a remote to activate and deactive the system if I want.

We got estimates from Brinks, ADT, General Security and APS as well, and Lowitt still had the best offer and lowest monthly monitoring for what we wanted.

yep, basically we did exactly the same thing! So far, so good. I grew up with Lowitts as an alarm service and I remember my parents were always happy with them.

Kathleen - run a search by KerryCEC. She ran a long thread last spring when she was researching all the companies, and she posted all their costs, etc on the thread, and who she ended up using and why.
