My wonderful Chat Icon MIL told my DH's cousin the wrong spelling of Isabella's middle name. My DH's cousin sent us the BEAUTIFUL quilt that has her name embroidered on it. But the middle name is wrong. I am so upset about this and hate taking it out. I do want to use it b/c it is sooo pretty and must have been expensive. Can you return it and have the name spelled correctly? Or would you just forget about it?

her middle name is

Lorren

on the quilt it is

Loren

The 2 are totally different names (prounounciation wise)

They may not take it back because that was the spelling they were given. Do you know where the quilt was purchased? If yes, try calling them and see what they can do. Good Luck!!!

I agree, call them and tell them it was a gift. See if there's anything they can do. That would bug me too.

Chat Icon unfortunately I just called and they said that if it was their fault they'd fix it and since it wasn't it would cost me $108 to get a new one plus embroidery fees and shipping. Not worth it. I guess I'll have to live with it.

ETA: I told them that I would pay for whatever it would cost to fix it... shipping etc. but not $108+ for a new one Chat Icon

ETA again- need to vent....Chat Icon Chat Icon on my MIL! How stupid can you be? You dont know how to spell your 1st grandaughter's name????Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Maybe if you brought it to a local embroidery store they can remove the middle name and re-do it. Just a thought Chat Icon

Or, how about removing the middle name completely?

Thats such a shame. I would just take a thick black sharpie marker and write a GIANT R in with black marker. That should solve the problem.

I always find a great solution to every problem.

that is what I was thinking, too! If it is just embroidery, you should be able to pull it out pretty easily.

I agree they should be able to match the writing and color thread. It's worth a try.
