Am I overreacting? - MIL related
So on Sunday DH brought our 3 month old DS to his brother's house to watch football so I could get some things done around the house. In speaking with my MIL today (who was there on Sunday) she told me that she was feeling around in DS's mouth to see if she could feel any teeth because she thought he may be teething early.
I am completely grossed out by this, knowing full well there is no way she washed her hands before she did this. Plus I don't think it's her place to do that.
Am I being too sensitive?

Yes. (sorry)
Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't want anyone rooting around in my child's mouth except a dentist.
However, he's perfectly fine & healthy. No harm was caused. I still don't like it but it's not worth any fuss.

Yuck. This happened to me with a family member and I was freaking out inside thinking "KEEP YOUR HANDS OUT OF MY BABYS MOUTH"---however, i let it go and I hoped she washed her hands first

Honestly, I do think you're overreacting. I don't think it's such an odd thing to do as a grandma. Is it the cleanest thing, probably not, but I don'tthink she crossed any lines.ut just wait... she will!

My grandmother used to do that all the time. She wanted to be the first to find a tooth so that she could buy the first shoes.
I cried when I found Sarah's first tooth, thinking about how much I missed her.

That's gross. My mil did that to my son too even though she denies it when I was looking right at her.
Say something if you see her do it next time.

It would drive me nuts, but I wouldn't say anything about it (pick your battles). If I saw it happen in front of me I might say something.

I wouldn't make a big deal of it. There are far worse things a MIL can do.
Sigh! The joys of sharing your DC with family.
