Am I the only one who is totally uncomfortable without a bra?

I HATE that "free" feeling! I wear one all the time even when I sleep. Don't see why people love the feeling of these things just swinging around.

As sad as this sounds I came home last night, went straight to my bedroom, ripped the dress off, but a bra on and a tank top and shorts an breathed such a sigh of relief!

Re: Am I the only one who is totally uncomfortable without a bra?

As soon as I get home, the bra is off. But I always wear one when out.
I'm on the larger side and need support w/Under wire. I think if my breasts were smaller and not as heavy, a bra wouldn't bother me so much. I feel so constricted, my shoulders ache, etc. So when I take it off, I feel so relaxed!

Yes I can see that.
I am pretty small chested so the bra never bothers me in that sense.

This! I used to wear a bra to bed all the time and then one day I just stopped and now I love just being home without one. BUT if someone is over or I'm heading out, I need to wear one. I feel SO uncomfortable out in public without one. There is truly nothing like taking it off when I get home though. LOL.

Agree. I, unfortunately, am also on the (much) larger size at a 34GG. My bra and I have a love/hate relationship. I desperately need one, especially after having two kids. Chat Icon Chat Icon They are so heavy and I feel like I'm wearing a steel cage all day. Wires poking, straps digging, band constricting... it's all just too much. But I hate taking it off because I hate the look/feel without a bra... like two tube socks with a rock in the toe. lol!!! Chat Icon Totally not attractive nor comfortable lol

Sigh. Someday in the not too distant future, I will have a breast reduction. Then I will be small and perky and I can buy pretty, lacy, fancy bras in hundreds of colors and styles or I can just grab any old bra at target. I may never take it off!

I take off my bra as soon as I get home and know I'm staying home for the rest of the day. I never sleep in one either. I like feeling freeee lol i could never go without wearing one out of the house though. I need the support.

Same here! I cannot wait to get my bra off!!! I have no idea how anyone could sleep in one. Maybe because I have a really large chest that bras are less comfortable.

I don't like to be be with OR without a bra for too long.

I can't walk around without one--I need the support after a while, even if I am just lounging at home.

But . . bras for larger ladies are terrible, so I can't wait to take mine off at the end of the day. I have a couple of very soft t-shirts I wear around the house, so it is still comfortable.

Am I the only one who is totally uncomfortable without a bra?

One day my contractor had to come over to talk about some renovating work we were doing in my house, but I didn't want him to come over at that time because...I had already taken off my bra! And I didn't want to put one back on.

He finally convinced me that he had to come over right away because he had other jobs and wouldn't see me again until the first day of the reno. So I hang up the phone, and you know the conversation I had with my cat: "(BIG SIGH): F***! I have to put my bra back on."

Re: Am I the only one who is totally uncomfortable without a bra?

I'm a person who can absolutely never go out in public without a bra (can't wear strapless or halters w/o a bra), I would get stares & not in a good way. They are too big especially now with bf-ing. A few times I've accidentally answered the door or gone on my porch & been approached by someone when I'm not wearing a bra... I have to cross my arms over my chest, it is embarrassing! At home I like to go without for the most part. But after a while my back starts to bother me so sometimes at home I put one on for some support. I have designated bras for around the house, mostly my older bras before I get rid of them.

Re: Am I the only one who is totally uncomfortable without a bra?

I am one of the "I need to wear a bra" people. I hate not wearing one, I feel so self conscious. I see women out in cute tops and just from the cut I know they're not wearing a bra, and always wonder how they can do it. My doctor told me TO wear a bra as much as possible. Every doctor has a different opinion on that.

For the women who find bras uncomfortable, I think you need to make sure you're wearing the correct size and replace them often, like everything else in life, they don't last as long as they used to. I measured myself and then tried on a bunch in the size I should be, but every brand sizes slightly different, so you just have to find the right size in a brand you like, you may be a different size in a different brand.

Try this, if you haven't sized yourself in a while you will be shocked at your size, you're probably wearing too big a band and too small a cup. If your bra fits properly, you shouldn't even feel like you're wearing one.

YES! this new way of measuring had me going down a band size and up almost 2 cup sizes. At first I was like- Yeah right, no way!
But then I put it on in that size and it felt amazing.

I don't' need a bra so much for support, and nobody would ever even know I wasn't wearing one, so it's not that, but the day I didn't wear one my nips felt so uncomfortable and sensitive. I have very sensitive boobs and need the bra to protect them from rubbing on my clothes.

You are not alone. I don't like them to hang there and I hate under boob sweat. I wear one most of the day, except for sleeping.

I love being without one, but only at night or when I am home.

Why sleep in one?? and why go all day without?

This. Also doesn't it depend on your cup size? I am a small B so maybe I am more comfortable with out one at home?

In the summer there are some loose items I can get away with without a bra n

Bras rarely fit me. I have small breasts but a large ribcage so I need a 38" to feel I am not being cut in half. Problem is, the cups are all too big at that size. Sigh.

I didn't wear a bra for years and it was so comfortable.

I love how it feels going bra-less physically but I would never leave the house without one if you could tell I wasn't wearing one. Chat Icon

Me too! I hate wearing a bra out but I do it. No underwear though. No one can tell. And I sleep naked even in the winter. I can't imagine sleeping with a bra!

I love being without a bra. I miss my pre-baby full Bs. I was able to wear low cut, backless, whatever. Now my boobs are a D and a bra must be worn outside of the house. I find that it limits the clothes I can wear- which sucks!
