Glad this is being investigated.
If she hits, punches, and kicks him in front of the cameras like that, can you imagine how much worse it may be when those cameras are shut off and MTV's crew goes home? Amber needs help.

Yes, I think Gary and his mother could provide a better home environment than Amber can.
Yes. Gary is not abusive. He may be unemployed but seems to have a family support system and help. I don't recall seeing anyone related to Amber. Just her dumb-asss friends who have no clue.
The whole point is she is a kid herself thrust into a situation. She needs HELP.

The whole point is she is a kid herself thrust into a situation. She needs HELP.
I do think she needs help -- but while she seeks that help, it might be best to let the father take care of the baby. By the way it looks on the show, it's as if Amber can not do anything involving the care of her child.
She lays in bed all the time, has a filthy apartment, doesn't wash clothes or have clean laundry for her daughter, and is always looking to pawn her off on other people to handle her responsibilities. When she is questioned about her parenting skills, she freaks out and starts to curse out Gary and hit him. She lets a man she barely knows not only move into her home, but care for her daughter.
She's severely imbalanced and is not a good example for her daughter at this point. Her need to lash out violently needs to be addressed and she needs to be arrested and sent on the right path. Once she is arrested, the DA can decide what is the best route, but maybe she needs to have a "scared" moment to wake her up. During that time, I think Gary's family could help out and she can earn the right to be with her daughter again.

I'm all for her getting the help she needs but the needs of the child come first, she needs/deserves to be in a safer environment.

This is JMO but
I don't feel bad for her at all.....if HE was the one hitting her NO ONE would feel bad or think it wasn't a big deal.
I think she should be brought up on charges.
I think it is SO DISRESPECTFUL to hit a man. That man is someone's son, would people want some girl smacking and hitting their sons b/c she didn't like what he was saying.
I WOULD NEVER hit a man especially in the face, the same way I expect to never be hit.
I am SO GLAD that this is being taken seriously.
I agree 100%!!
