American girl dolls VENT

So I ordered a bunny stuffed animal for the Juliet doll for my girlfriends daughters birthday - she told me its on the top of her list of birthday wishes. And I want to make her so happy.
so I ordered it and not being familiar with American girl at all I figured, "for $22, its got to be a nice gift".
Well, I was wrong! It came in the mail yesterday and OMG, its a tiny squished up bunny and a tiny basket. Really you could get it at the Christmas tree store for $5.00!!
now I'm going to be completely embarrassed when she opens it in front of everyone. I look like we cheaped out.

I think the company takes advantage of parents wanting to make their children happy.

Yep. I've ordered lots of things from there over the years for my nieces. So over priced. You won't look cheap though. I'm sure the parents know how expensive the stuff is. Who cares what everyone else thinks? And if its at the top of her list, I'm sure she'll love it.

Completely overpriced stuff! I got my niece a few things from them for Christmas and it looked like nothing for $100

I agree their stuff is overpriced. Heck, I bought my almost 2 year old a $55 doll from there that she better eat, sleep and play with until she is ten But, like AP said, the parents know how much that stuff cost, so I'm sure they will be very appreciative.
