Girl clothing vent
So, we did my layette yesterday, and I was SO excited to pick out gender specific stuff...
Anyway, I love girly and feminine stuff-- but SO MUCH of the girls clothes are like this overly saccharine sweet looking stuff in pepto-bismal and bubble gum pink. I guess it's just not my taste.
I have seen things I like-- but, it seems like cool baby girls clothes are harder to find-- unless you want to spend a lot of $$$$$$.

Re: Girl clothing vent
I have seen really cute baby girl clothes at the Gap. I go crazy in there, I always want to buy something, but we don't find out the sex until January.

Re: Girl clothing vent
Carters has a lot of purple for girls. After a while I got tired of the pink too.

Don't be afraid to buy cream, yellow and green.
I am having a boy and am getting tired of people buying me the various shades of blue.
If you go over to the boys section, you'll find more of the neutral colors. At least that's true at Carter's.

Re: Girl clothing vent
Crazy 8's has the CUTEST baby girl stuff in all different colors. They aren't outrageously priced either.

Re: Girl clothing vent
I've gotten sooooo much pink, that I'm honestly on pink overload, that I'm now looking at getting reds, purples, greens, yellow and browns, I'm sooo done with pink...which may be a problem since her room is the inside of a bottle of pepto...

Re: Girl clothing vent
You can also find white stuff with girlie pink accents like embroidered flowers etc. i am a fan of hot pink and lavender. I think it is so cute on baby girls!

Yeah-- I bought a bunch of stuff at Bloomies casue of the baby sale, and I get a discount there as well. The older stuff is definitely cuter...
I think it's the layette that is so damn pink. But, I figure-- they will only be in it for the first few months... That is, if I even have a girl.
I didn't want to do any gender neutral stuff for the layette because that stuff I am able to buy now-- so, I wanted more stuff gender specific.

Re: Girl clothing vent
I think I read in one of your posts that you don't live on LI. Anyway there is a cute store called Denny's that has cool baby clothes. Maybe they have one near you. Gap also had alot of cute stuff. Also, what about J crew.

Re: Girl clothing vent
I have gone out of my way to find non pink girls clothes. They are out there if you look. Carters has stuff, I have also found stuff at baby gap. I am still not sure what defines "layette" but I am talking about NB and 0-3 months clothing.
