Amount to Spend on a First Bday Gift?
I have only bought 1st bday gifts for close family members in the past and we have two 1st bday parties this month both for our friend's babys.. one we cant make it to and one we will attend.. just wondering what the sort of average is to spend on a first bday gift for a friends kid?

I usually spend btw 40-50 for close family and friends.

For kids of friends we usually do about $25-$30. We do more for family members.

I think it varies greatly on how well you know the family.
For good friends and family, I spend $100-300.
For family friends, I spend $50-$100.
For new friends and acquaintances, I spend $20-50.
I know it is not always popular on here but I tend to give differently depending on the venue.
