Eh. I think we all feel this way, I didn't see anything profound in what she wrote. I did, however, see all of the spelling mistakes and that made me take it not as seriously. Sorry When she wrote cleaver, in place of clever, I almost stopped reading

Re: An Open Letter to Our Nation's Leadership
There are a dozen other political parties out there, but in the US, majority rules. It's just a fact that the vast majority of people are either Republican or Democrat. She should focus on picking one of the parties that she agrees with, and trying to promote that party. That's how things get done, not complaining abstractly to a blog.

i have to disagree to a point. i DON'T think that the vast majority of Americans are either Republican or Democrat. That is why the past 3 presidential elections have been so close. Many people don't feel like they are being represented well enough by either party. For myself, for example, there are aspects of BOTH parties that I like, but aspects of both that I hate that make me uncomfortable supporting either one of them; I think many, many people feel the same. Aren't the "independents" becoming the key vote?
i think the problem in this country is that the political power all comes down to money. If we were a true democracy ALL parties and view points would be heard and have the opportunity to actually have a chance on election day. Yes, legally, the Green Party, the Libertarians, the Pro-Lifers, or some other little party etc. can and are physically on the ballot, but we all know if you don't have the connections (i.e. MONEY) to run an elaborate million dollar campaign filled with t-shirts and bumper stickers, etc. you don't have a chance in hell of winning.
In Europe, in countries like Italy or Ireland for example, you have SEVERAL parties running. More voices are heard because it is not always down to the same two parties every time.
IMO, when true campaign reform is passed, more people's true opinions will be heard. I still don't get how the "land of the FREE" consistently has the same old politicians singing the same old tune. it's getting old and it's not representing the will of many of its citizens.

I don't disagree with anything she said
I don't either really- but these problems take time to fix
we didn't get into this mess over night or even over 8 years
these are problems that go back decades and they are very complex-
it's going to take more then 5 months to fix them
