Re: An open letter to the Red States
That is one of the most ignorant, offensive things I have read in a long time.

Re: An open letter to the Red States
Not too funny, very ignorant, and quite offensive...but I guess I shouldn't expect much more from the blue states.

Re: An open letter to the Red States
i take the OP's word for it that this was not intended as anything other than a joke.
that being said, i think that given the heated political debates that have surfaced on this site lately and the heated political time... i don't think an R or a D could post something like this and not have the result be that people are offended.
in addition, a number of people on this site who are Ds have been offended at the suggestion that people view that party and/or some of their leaders as seeing themselves as better/smarter/more elite than other people in the country. it is just these types of "open letters" that give people ammo to make those claims (true or not). it comes off as Ds saying they are smarter, better, etc... than people who do not share their beliefs. what happened to appreciating differences?
I am an R and I don't think that characterization is fair to make of all Ds. But, when things like this come out -- it reinforces why that idea has ever been thrown out there. For a party that spends a lot of time criticizing Rs for not being open and tolerant, these types of things show a lbit of hypocrisy IMO

Re: An open letter to the Red States
I think it's funny and I also live in a red state and am moving to another red state. Thanks for posting-maybe you should put a disclaimer in the title?
