I just hope things aren't too bad, I'm going back to work for the first time on a severe ankle sprain. Worried about slipping. I'm glad the snow is tomorrow, not friday. Hopefully the sidewalks will be clear

No idea. Not a technical term.
I think they are saying it because there is the possibility of winds near hurricane strength. This storm is definately going to impact NJ and upstate NY. NYC is right on the edge of a major impact or just a few inches. Eastern end of Long Island will wonder why the news is talking so much about it.
Since I live in Suffolk, I am glad to have the warm ocean water helping us not get too much accumulation.

My bad. Northeastern NJ is on the original link of forecast area. The rest of NJ is on the 'NJ link'.

NYC here - it's snowing outside right now but weather.com is saying it will turn to rain at 9am and stay that way until tonight.
do you agree? (or is it still supposed to hit hard with snow late afternoon today)
