Ok nevermind.... weather.com just changed from winter storm warning to winter storm advisory-starting late night until friday morning.

I even put a NJ storm total map in the post. Why search? 
Because the NJ map you posted doesn't show my area of NJ! It seems to only show southern and central jersey.
Thanks for saying that Michelle...I was thinking that I didn't know how to read the map, because I couldn't find my area either! 
My bad. Northeastern NJ is on the original link of forecast area. The rest of NJ is on the 'NJ link'.
Thanks Kelly! When I woke up an hour ago, it was raining, but it has since switched over to snow and it's falling pretty hard right now. Northern Jersey is going to get nailed hard with this one again!

NYC here - it's snowing outside right now but weather.com is saying it will turn to rain at 9am and stay that way until tonight.
do you agree? (or is it still supposed to hit hard with snow late afternoon today)
It will turn to rain. The biggest amount of snow will occur tonight into Friday.

I saw the rain/snow line in action on my way to work this morning!!! 
Whilst riding on the LIRR between 7:25 and 7:55am, I first saw rain in eastern queens through elmhurst. Then, the windows on the started to fog up. After that, I saw snow, sticking to cars and dirt in Sunnyside.

Then it RETROGRADES back over NYC. (There is your weather word of the day, Retrograde, which basically means: go backwards.) It literally will take in the sights around NYC, lower Hudson valley, etc before then heading back out to sea.
Sorry folks, this storm brought a camera, extra batteries and a map. It may even buy a t-shirt that says 'I love NY'

(Even though I am totally ****** at the weather for scaring my mother into not flying up from South Carolina this morning  )

I just saw it on my way home from Queens Village to Bellmore. When I left work, it was snowing very heavily. As I crossed from Queens into Nassau, it became a rain snow mix, with gradually more rain than snow. Whenever I hit traffic, the ratio of snow to rain would increase, and then as I got nearer to home, it was mostly rain. The snow quickly increased, and after 5 min. of being home, it was all snow.
