Re: Angel care sound/movement sensor monitors

I LOVE it...

I will say I got it after DD was born and we found out that she LOVES to sleep on her belly, and flips out when we try putting her to sleep on her back

so we do put her on her belly, she has great head/neck control, she lifts it all the way up, and has flipped over twice before, but use the angel care monitor for more peace of mind and it does work well for us...

Our nursery is right next door to us too, but we have a two story house, and she does nap in her crib

Re: Angel care sound/movement sensor monitors

no, I didn't use one. I personally was ok with just the regular monitor and I did check on DS during the night.

Now, at 8 mos, I haven't used the monitor since he was like 5 mos old.

Must add, our room is litterly right next store, plus we are in a ranch so everything is on one floor. If I were in a 2 story house, I may have used the regular monitor longer.

Re: Angel care sound/movement sensor monitors

I was going to get one, then I read in more than one place that it is more stressful than helpful. So, I decided against it. We have a video monitor and he hasn't even slept in his crib yet, he's in a bassinet next to our bed and will probably stay there for at least a few more weeks.

Re: Angel care sound/movement sensor monitors

We got one at the shower and I was tempted to return it because I thought it was overkill paranoia but dh really wanted it!

At first I hated it! I would always forget to turn it off before I picked dd up and many nights I would forget to turn it on...

Now I love it...not sure what changed but its peace of mind...especially when she goes right back to sleep after a bottle in the middle of the night and now she's starting to wiggle around a lot.

Re: Angel care sound/movement sensor monitors

We got it as a shower gift, put it together right when DD was born and put it in place... but never used it.

We packaged it back up in the box and returned it when she was a few weeks old and got a nice BRU credit.

She's in our room mostly at night anyway and we plan to have her in there for a while so we didn't see the need for it.

We have a really great video monitor that we use when she naps in her crib.

We have this one and I LOVE it! Honestly, it gives me peace of mind. Especially in the beginning. Once he started flipping over I loved it even more.

I highly recommend itChat Icon

I loved it. I was able to sleep better with it. We didn't have any false alarms in the beginning. The alaram would go off because we would forget to shut it off when we picked DS up. I know I would have gotten up to make sure DS was breathing constantly without it.

Re: Angel care sound/movement sensor monitors

My god I LOVE my Angel Care !!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE it

Its one of the best investments I made when she was little.

I had another monitor sound only (graco i think) it was ok but at the time I came on to LIF and got the advice to get the angel care and omg i can not say how grateful I am.

Peace of mind at hearing that little beep thing. I can't even sleep anymore unless I hear it.

I had to get used to shutting it off but that was only like once in a blue moon that I'd forget. I used to keep it *IN* her crib because I had nowhere else to put it when she was tiny. But since she couldnt roll over or reach it I felt it was fine.

Peace of mind? GOD yes. I could hear her breathe and some days that just made me feel so much better.

The only issue ive had so far is now at a year old she moves a LOT (of course) .. if she's vertical in the crib the sensor doesnt see her sometimes (like if she's all the way at the foot or head of the crib) so it sets off the alarm. I run in there and I'm ok with that since its only like a 'warning' and usually its good cause I want to move her anyway.

Its nice to hear her wake up and giggle/play on weekends. My new apt her room is across the livingroom and through a hall, so its a huge peace of mind!

I hightly recommend.

Re: Angel care sound/movement sensor monitors

I LOVE mine! I bought it after DD was born, she hated her bassinet and slept in her crib from day one. I was a mess and that monitor gave me peace of mind to actually sleep at night. I still use if at 17 months but more because I am afraid she is going to try and climb out and hurt herself. I know I'm a bit of a loon but the monitor makes me feel better..

Re: Angel care sound/movement sensor monitors

We got the babysense monitor, which is essentially the angel care but with 2 sensors, so it covers more ground in the crib for less false alarms(only $10 more!)...at 6 months, G started flipping over and planting her face flat in the sheet...I was constantly going in there and changing her position...but was scared to sleep and wake up with a baby in trouble or worse..we got the monitor and in my opinion it is one of our BEST investments...I can actually sleep a little better knowing something else is monitoring my child when I sleep...and the thing definitely works..she crawled to the top of the crib one night where it was just out of reach and it went off..scared us half to death, but I would rather be warned and be able to get a baby breathing again after 20 seconds than wait any longer and find out the worse...good luck!Chat Icon

I don't know the name, but my baby cousin died of SIDS, and he was a twin, so I am pretty sure that his twin wore this...

I don't know that one needs it normally tho, IMO...

Re: Angel care sound/movement sensor monitors EDITED with question about Snuza Halo

I had the Angelcare monitor for the first 3-4 months with Jack. It def. gives peace of mind. There were very few false alarms - but that didn't happen until he was older and moving around more (and I would look into the video monitor to make sure he slid off the pad before going into panic mode)

I'm a crazy lunatic in the beginning and SIDS freaks the he!! out of me so I was all for this monitor!

my cousin died of SIDS as well. actually, 2 did, on two different sides of my family.

I am an anxious person normally, but the idea of this sends me into deep mental turmoil.

that's what made me ask Chat Icon

I got it, for $39.20. for that price, I figured it's worth it even if only for some of the time.

thanks all! Chat Icon

Same here, but we used it longer (don't remember when we stopped, but it was when she was moving all around the crib and setting off the alarm). LOVE that thing, only way I was able to sleep for the first few months! We actually still use that as our monitor w/ the motion part turned off.

Re: Angel care sound/movement sensor monitors EDITED with question about Snuza Halo

We used the AngelCare for both DC. For us, it was definitely worth it. DS moved around a lot, so there were more false alarms than with DD. Still worth the false alarms. No matter how close DC is, when you are sound asleep, you can't hear a baby stop breathing. The monitors can...

Re: Angel care sound/movement sensor monitors EDITED with question about Snuza Halo

I have a brand new AngelCare monitor that I'm selling. We bought it and then decided not to use it because I figured I'd be paranoid with it, haha.

Anyway, if you want it, FM me for details.
