Angelina Jolie addresses daughter's boyish style, admits Shiloh wanted to be called "John".
Angelina Jolie is once again defending daughter Shiloh's tomboy-ish wardrobe.
The Tourist star tells You magazine:
"Hopefully I'm giving my children the sense that they are deeply loved and deeply safe.
At the same time we are hopefully encouraging their individuality as they get to know who they are, and not getting in the way of that.
I don't think it's for the world to interpret anything. She likes to dress like a boy and wants her hair cut like a boy and she wanted to be called John for a while.
Some kids wear capes and want to be Superman and she wants to be like her brothers. It's who she is. It's been a surprise to us and it's really interesting, but she's so much more than that - she's funny and sweet and pretty.
But she does love a tie."

for Angelina and I am a happy for Shiloh becuase not a lot of parents are able to respect let their child be who they want to be.

i also dont understand when people say that allowing her or any other kid to dress as the opposite gender will cause gender confusion as they get older. um...i think the gender confusion occurs when you stifle these poor kids who are trying to be who they truly are inside.
i think shiloh is adorable and seems to be very happy

I think it's terrible!!!
A tie? Really? I HATE those things! I always feel like it's trying to choke me.... 
Other than that, I don't see a problem, and it's good that Angelina is letting her DD be who she wants to be.

I don't really care about Shiloh dressing like a boy but I do have a problem with her wearing those boots untied like that. She could very easily trip!

like i said the other day... its much easier and more socially accepted to defend a girl dressing like a boy than a boy dressing like a girl... my cousin used to wear all boys clothes too (she never wanted to be called John in stead of Julia but whatever lol) ... she eventually grew out of it ... but not completely... shes def still a tom boy but she wears girls bathinsuits and underwear now...

Interesting how everyone applauds letting Shiloh dress/look boyish, but so many condemned Gwen Stefani for letting Kingston get his nails painted. 
ETS: I should have said that there are more applauding this decision than Gwen's. Of course not everyone does, that was silly of me to say!

I dont applaud it, I just dont choose to get mixed up in the celeb child drama for the umpteenth time. thats probably why ppl are refraining.
