Annoyed with my OB's office...
so today I have my monthly check up, and since I can't get an appt with my OB, she had recommended that I see her partner, since I would have to meet him eventually, as there might be a chance he would end up delivering DD.
Anyhoo, so I took a day off (as I can't get an evening appt, there was NOTHING available) went to the OB office, after 30 mins of waiting in the exam room the doc finally came in and spoke to me for a grand total of 5 mins! He gave me my glucose test prescription, barely took time to answer my questions, and I also felt that he didn't even sympathize and address the aches and pains I mentioned to him.
What is the point of these check ups, if it's only going to take 5 mins? Sometimes it takes days for the office to get back to me when I need to speak to someone regarding a pain or concern.
I really like my OB, but I don't think I will be returning to this practice the next time I am pregnant. I will look for another practice that is less hectic and provides more attention.
ok, rant over. Thanks for reading

That's how I felt about my first OB office, along with other issues I was having with them, so I ended up switching. I understand you're frustration.

It takes them days to get back to you? That's a LARGE problem. I would recommend you look for someone else too. I'm sorry you had such a crappy visit.

Re: Annoyed with my OB's office...
at the beginning of my pregnancy, I liked my doc more. It was a new doc for me, as I needed to change docs since I was considered high risk.
I have felt since about my 18 week appt-- that I was rushed. I am hoping that I get a little more attention as I near the end. I am assuming since not much happens in the middle-- it's more about making sure everything is status quo.
My good friend sees this doc too, and loves him-- so, I am not sure. We shall see... I will have to see his mug every couple of weeks now, so he better get used to spending some time with me!!!

My OB is like that too! I have to see 4 of them 'cus you don't know which will be doing the delivery. And if you don't ask them questions the visit can be over in 2 minutes after a 1 hour drive and 20 minute wait to see them!
Often the visit consist of them just coming in and ask how you're feeling, listen to the baby's heartbeat and measure your tummy.
They don't even bother with more than that unless you ask them questions.

I did not even get the measuring of the tummy today. The more I think about it the more I am annoyed.
I felt down a flight of stairs 2 weeks ago and was rushed to the ER. I should of talked to the doctor about it today, but since I was so rushed out of there, I totally forgot!
