another ? moms of 5-6 month old

Is my munchkin the only one not sleeping through the night? I'm starting to get sleep envy. He still gets up 2-3 times, between the no sleep and work i am just exhausted.

Thanks!

I nurse him at night, but i'm not sure if he's hungry or if it's a habit

I gotcha. I do not nurse, but when I started trying to get Matteo to sleep through, I'd see if I could get him back to sleep without feeding him when he woke up in the middle of the night. Even if that got me another hour, it stretched it out a bit. I know that doesn't for all babies and sometimes nothing will work to get them to sleep longer. We're just getting Ella to sleep through (she's not quite 5 months). I stopped nursing her when she'd wake up, and we had to CIO a few nights.

now she's generally in bed from 8/9pm - 6/7am.

Thank you! I never tried that, i just fed him immediately. I will try not feeding him tonight. Did you just rock him and hold him instead?

I forget how I decided to just try that one night, I guess I thought well, let's just see if he'll fall back asleep without a bottle. When he'd wake up I'd just rock him for a minute or so and he'd fall back asleep, sometimes he'd do that a few times a night. Now he's sleeping from 7:30-8pm till about 6-6:30. I should say MOST nights, not all the time!

the first night was torture - over an hour Chat Icon but it got better quickly. Now she may fuss a bit around 4am but goes back to sleep after a few minutes.

Def try and not feed him when he wakes up.

We got lucky with Andrew. At 3 months we just put him in his own crib and he slept through the night.

But for him it really helps that he is on solids. He is not as hungry as he used to be. He is more satisfied.

But I heard to just CIO. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
