another ? about thanksgiving re: serving dishes
Sorry for all the quesitons ladies but this is my first time hosting!
I have a whole bunch of serving dishes that match my china that I want to use that can NOT be microwaved....so do I heat the stuffing and mashed potatoes in the corningware and/or pot and then transfer it? Is that what you do? Or should I just forget my china and serve everything in the same thing I cook it in? ALso, how do you make sure everything will be nice and hot all at the same time??

My china is oven-proof so I just bake in that.
BUT I would transfer the dishes if I had to, just because I love any excuse to use my china.
It's all about timing: Your stuffing and sweet potatoes can go in the oven while the turkey is resting and you make the gravy. You can boil the potatoes and then add warm milk when you are ready to mash. That way they are not cold cold and you can zap for a quick minute if you need to. Bread (rolls) you can cook at the same time as stuffing.
GL and Happy Thanksgiving.

I would avoid dirtying up more dishes if at all possible, but then I can be lazy like that and I don't have a dishwasher.
As for timing, write down how long everything takes to cook and then back into start times for cooking. I tape that to the fridge so I can stay on track.
Good luck! It will be great!!

Re: another ? about thanksgiving re: serving dishes
I like to use my serving pieces for as much as I can.
While the turkey is sitting out I will put pretty much everything that needs to be warmed into the oven (except the mashed potatoes - make them then)
Some things stay in corning ware, others get transferred into china. All this happens while turkey is resting/being carved. As soon as the turkey comes out of the oven I move it to another pan or cutting board so I can make gravy.
Also, keep a list!!! Otherwise you'll end up forgetting something!
