I guess I must be in the minority. While I do celebrate anniversaries, I most certainly don't go nuts about doing so. I love him, he loves me and we "celebrate" all year long, so there's really no need to go crazy about it so long as the spark and the love is still there.

ITA. And my hubby agrees more. He isn't into all these 'holidays' as days to celebrate our marriage. We celebrate it every day!

Re: another anniversary question, MAN related
Birthdays are bigger in our world than Anniversaries are. DH is actually the one that will "count-down" the month of our anniversary...While it's a big-deal to us...we don't "act" as it's a big-deal...if that makes any sense at all.

DH and i are both notorious for forgetting anniversaries birthdays are much more important to us. we tell each other all the time how lucky and happy we are - that's enough for me

Re: another anniversary question, MAN related
DH says the wedding day is all about the bride...hence the anniversary is always about his wife. He's so good. I always get a piece of jewelery...or we go on vacation.

Re: another anniversary question, MAN related
We don't make a big deal about it but we do celebrate. For us, birthday's seem more important. We remind each other daily how much we love each other, so our anniversary is just a day to reflect back really..

My DH doesn't really care, but any excuse to go out to dinner or on vacation works for him.

Re: another anniversary question, MAN related
I am a HUGE birthday person.
anniversaries...not so much.
we were dating about 13 years before we got married and we never really celebrated our dating anniversary.
but I thought it maybe was wrong to not put thought into a day that should mean so much.....but in the end, I guess it's not that day, but everyday after.
I'd love to bag the whole thing really...I'd love to move my anniversary to a time of year I can think about without any issues.
or maybe have a floating day...any random day I feel overwhelmed with love and joy (I can't guarantee to feel that every April 23)

We're the same way. Neither one of us really "celebrates" anniversaries or b-days (except for DC, or course...) The day we started dating actually holds more importance for us. The wedding date is just the day we signed a contract. Our "dating date" is when our lives together started....

Re: another anniversary question, MAN related
I just have to say that I learned something on our HM from someone who was on our Globus tour:
This was an older couple, maybe in their 70's, and they were going to Italy for an anniversary. It wasn't a special anniversary. They go away somewhere every year to celebrate, and they have been all over the world. They have shared so many experiences together, I thought it was sooo wonderful. So no matter how small a trip we take, I realized that I want DH and I to travel together each year for our anniversary. It's something we enjoy doing together, and it's always a special way to celebrate.
Now that is pretty girly. DH likes to travel so he agrees with this. But he hardly remembers the couple from our tour. Apparently they made a bigger impression on me

I agree. I like to do something special, like dinner (without DD). But to me, like Valentines Day, all I really want is a card. Its not SUCH a big deal.

Re: another anniversary question, MAN related
I am not all about big celebrations on certain things. We have only had one wedding anniversary thus far and went on a trip for it. I suspect this year we will stay local and not make as big of a deal of it.

My husband always remembers. He buys gifts, we "celebrate" on a small scale.
Next week is our 10 year wedding anniversary. We feel it is a pretty big one, so we are going away...just the two of us.
But really...I feel everyday is a celebration.

I am a guy and I think they're important. We celebrate them and I love it.
We don't celebrate Valentine's Day.
