Another crib q - what do you do if your dc rolls onto their belly?
I know it is supposedly not good for DS to be sleeping on his belly. In his crib he rolls from back to belly but can't always seem to roll back. What do you do? Flip them back over or leave them? I feel nervous thinking DS will be on his belly in the crib all night! tia

How old is DC?
I was under the impression that once DC could roll to their belly there really isn't anything you can do about them rolling during the night.
Once DS could roll to his belly, I let him sleep that way.

Me personally always left them on their belly if they rolled over however my boys were belly sleepers at an early age. You should do what you feel most comf. with.

Same with us.
DS started turning at 4.5 months. I was freaking out but I could not stop him. He starts on his back and will roll.
I tried to stop him but he "fights" it in his sleep and tries to turn again. When I tried to "hold" him he woke up and cried. So, I just let him sleep on his belly. He had problems turning his head at first that's why I was worried but now he turns his head on his side during the night.

That is how old DS is 4.5 mos. The thingis he cannot roll from tummy to back as easily so not sure if this makes the difference?
Thanks so much for your responses!

I just started to leave her. I was flipping her back but she would wake up and cry and 1 minute later roll right back onto her belly so I really had no choice other then to stay awake all night flipping her. but then she wouldn't sleep well either! So I gave up and let her belly sleep now. She just turned 6 months and rolls pretty well although she can get onto her belly easier then getting back on her back.

My DS has been sleeping on his belly since about 2 weeks old. First in cradle/bassinet & then in crib. He just wouldn't sleep as well on his back. And he's perfectly fine!! He also sleeps on his side a lot (he looks soo adorable).

DS does not roll from belly to back. I have seen do it but he does not like it so it does not do it.

Re: Another crib q - what do you do if your dc rolls onto their belly?
Honestly - when Jack started rolling from his back to his belly - around 4.5 months - I put him in the sleep positioner. That always stopped it.
Then - close to six months he was all over the crib....I gave in and took out the positioner.
He would roll over - I would roll him back. Every night - all night long. I DID NOT want him sleeping on his belly that young.
He would then be cranky and up for hours at 3 in the morning. I did that for as long as I could. When he turned six months - I gave up - he is now a full on belly sleeper and has been sleeping the night ever since.
Jack also did really big push ups so I felt ALITTLE bit better. It's up to you - and how you feel about it!
