Another Firestorm watch! It's black out!I'm trying to remain calm!
The hills around my area that burned so bad last year are on fire again.
Please say some prayers for my fellow So cali neighbors.
The wind is blowing pretty strong today.

I'm pretty sad right now. I can't breathe outside and have the CAC on. The hills behind my house are on fire and the smoke is thick.

Re: Another Firestorm watch!
Here's the fire I'm worried about right now.
Saturday, November 15, 2008 Large Corona wildfire racing toward Yorba Linda 800 acres charred, 12 homes damaged. Winds continue blowing. By GARY ROBBINS, JENNIFER MUIR and DAVID WHITING The Orange County Register Comments 5| Recommend 6 A wildfire stoked by powerful Santa Ana winds has damaged 12 homes and charred 800 acres in Corona and is now fanning out toward Yorba Linda, where houses are being evacuated in an area where the vegetation has been turned brownish-yellow by drought.
Fire officials say the evacuation is occurring on Merryweather Circle, in the northeast section of the city, adjoining the Chino Hills.
The blaze is one of at least three that are burning across Southern California. About 1,500 firefighters are struggling to control a 2,600-acre wildfire that destroyed dozens of homes overnight in the Sylmar area, in the San Fernando Valley. A plume of smoke from the fire has drifted more than 60 miles out to sea and is visible from Orange County.
A smaller fire is burning on the Palos Verdes Peninsula. And firefighters have descended on Corona and Yorba Linda, where the wind has gusted more than 30 mph, with gusts to 61 mph in the nearby canyons of northeastern Orange County.
That fire also has created a large grayish-brown plume that’s visible as far away as the Inland Empire and such Orange County beach cities as Newport Beach, Huntington Beach and Seal Beach. The smell of smoke also has reached coastal areas.
“I am at my office building in Ontario, by the airport, on the eighth floor,” says Lisa Sipan, a reader. “I can see the foothills and smoke from my office and the fire smoke appears to be heading east, over the freeway, covering the Anaheim Hills-Yorba Linda area.”
The fires led the National Weather Service to extend the red flag fire weather warning to 4 p.m. Sunday, from 4 p.m. today. Forecasters are concerned about the dangerous mix of strong winds, low humidity (below 10 percent in many areas) and temperatures in the upper 80s, about 10 degrees above normal. Temperatures are expected to remain unseasonably warm through Tuesday.
The wildfires in Orange County are being driven by Santa Ana winds that have gusted to 61 mph in Fremont Canyon, above the Anaheim Hills, 48 mph in nearby Harding Canyon, 35 mph in Orange and at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, 26 mph in Foothill Ranch, 25 mph in Bell Canyon, 23 mph in Huntington Beach, and 22 mph in Los Alamitos. The relative humidity has fallen below 10 percent in many areas, and temperatures have risen to the mid-80s.
The winds have been equally especially fierce in the northern San Fernando Valley, where gusts up to 60 mph spread wildfire over 2,600 acres and have forced the evacuation of an estimated 10,000 people in the Sylmar area. The Associated Press says that the I-5 is closed at the Newhall Pass. The fire has produced a smoke plume that has drifted more than 60 miles out to sea and is visible from parts of Orange County.
The winds have heated up as they squeezed through the canyons and foothills. At 11 a.m., the temperature along the entire Orange County coastline was above 80, with highs of 87 degrees in Seal Beach and Sunset Beach. There will be a 6' 7'' high tide at 925 a.m., jacked up by surf that could reach 5 feet in some areas.

Please be careful!
We just spoke to my sister (she lives in Westlake Village) and though the fire hasn't gotten to them yet, the winds are blowing in their direction and they're concerned about blowing embers. It's so scary.

I'll say some prayers for her.
The blowing embers are a big concern.

We've been ordered to close all windows and window coverings. If it gets closer I'll pack up the dogs and cats and go to my mom's house.
It jumped the freeway 1 mile behind my house and neighborhoods are now on fire.

I'm getting freaked out. The sky looks like big black rain clouds from the smoke. Lots of sirens and phone calls from friends and relatives .

It's surreal. The fires last year weren't a threat as much as this one is to me directly.
