Im going back to work in less than 2 weeks (but im a teacher so I'm only going back for 2 1/2 weeks and then im home again for the summer)

I'm trying to figure out how to breast feed/ pump while at work without messing up with my supply because I'll be back to just nursing my dd this summer.

I'm teaching from 8:20-3:10. My lunch is from 10:40-11:40. If I take an early train (i teach in brooklyn) I'd have to leave my house at 6. So I'm thinking I can nurse dd at 5am, pump at 8, 11:20, 3:10, then I get home at 5 and can nurse her again.

Will I have enough left if I want to nurse my dd at 5? Some days I know kids will get picked up late and I wont be able to pump until 3:20. Will I have anything in me to nurse her with only an hour and a half later?

Would this be enough? Any suggestions?

I think this seems like a really reasonable plan! The first day or two your LO may have to work harder/longer to nurse, but just keep at it and your supply will come back up for that feeding.
You probably know this, but just make sure you are eating and drinking enough, and RELAX when you pump.

You will have milk to feed your baby. Especially 2 hours later...I can pump and then feed DS 10 minutes later. Your body will produce the milk. I find I can get a let down much easier with DS when I "think" I'm just about empty than with the pump.

I would maybe suggest nursing closer to when you leave home if possible. Like 5:30? I always read (on Kellymom.com) to nurse right before leaving the baby-that will also extend the time between their next feeding. You MIGHT find that you actually start producing more milk which might not be bad. I'm not a teacher but I pump 3x at work. I pump MORE than DS eats so by the weekend I'm leaking in my sleep and have to pump on Sat & Sun (which is good for my freezer stash).

I'm a teacher and I pump as soon as I get to work and on my lunch (1ish). Then I get home at about 345 and nurse right away. And I'm fine. My supply hasn't dropped at all. Some days are better then others but i have had enough milk for her and have been back since spring break. You shouldn't see too much of a drop in two weeks and if you do I'm sure it'll go back up once your home because its all about supply and demand! Good luck

Your body produces the milk faster right after a feeding. I agree with pp that you may even want to nurse later in the morning before you leave. I always pumped about 30-60 minutes after DD's morning feeding. You'll definitely be fine at 5 even if you pump later than 3:10.

So I would pump more if i fed her later and pump sooner? So then I can either feed her at 5:30 and pump at 8

Or would i get more if i feed her at 5 and pump at 6? I could take a later train to do this but then I wont have time to pump before school starts and some days i wouldnt be able to pump again until 10:40 (almost 5 hours later)

I say feed her at 5:30 and pump at 8am. If you don't pump until 10 (5 hours later) you will be So full and uncomfortable! I feed DS at 7; and pump by 10am. Anytime after that my boobs start to get hard and hurt from being so full.
