Another lice question.
if you discover your child has lice and you treat it, should you advise your childs teacher that your child had lice but its being treated?
Also how long should your child have to stay out of school once the treatment starts?

Yes you should advise the teacher once you find out so they can alert the other classmates to be on the lookout so that it does not spread.
Once you kill the lice and remove the nits (the lice eggs) they can go back to school. Depending on how bad the case of lice is, how long their hair is, etc. that could take from a few hours to a few days!

Thats what I thought. Obviously not every parent feels the same way thought as one of DD's friends had lice - mom discovered it monday after school, treated her that night and she was back at school on wednesday and the teacher was not informed.
