Another NYC/LI vent
Yesterday I discharged a new client from a nursing home to her own apartment in Rego Park, Queens (Woodhaven Blvd area).
It took me AN HOUR walking and driving around to be able to purchase her a Metrocard. Either no stores sold them, only took cash (I rarely travel with cash in hand) or there were no vending machines in the stations I found.
After helping her all day, stopping by briefly to see someone in Woodside near Northern Blvd, I left to go home around 4:30.
I did not walk in my door until after 7PM because of the amount of traffic on the Northern State.
Thank goodness I don't have to do this often (I primarily work on LI), but this is RIDIC!
I feel bad for those of you who have to deal with this nonsense daily.

I am aware of that. In fact, I used to live in Queens for many years and took the train. My point was that no where I went had them.

Try getting a oneway ticket for the path at 33rd street.
You can only get a round trip.
The machine that takes creit cards only sells multi trip tickets.
I always have cash but their machine ONLY takes fives. mine wasn't fresh enough to work.
