Another thought-what if the person is super morbidly obese and literally not be able to get into or out of their car? When I was super pregnant I got stuck in a 7-11 parking lot for 45 minutes because I couldn't squeeze into my car in those tiny spots.
I still think most often it's just an arrogant douche taking up two spots but you never know!
Possible, not likely. The likelihood of it just being some d0uche is FAR greater.

While I doubt this is frequently the case, I have seen handicapped people park like this probably when all the handicapped spots were taken. I suppose its possible that a person in a wheelchair could be traveling with someone else and not have their pass and park in the middle of two spots to get out of the car.
Just playing devils advocate!
I'm sorry, but only the Hypothetical Diabetic gets to be a douche on LIF. They get to run around eating bananas in the supermarket, they get to eat in their cars while other people are waiting for spots, they could probably even finagle a way to use that stork parking... basically they have cornered the market on justifiable douchiness.
The Hypothetical Handicapped Person and Hypothetical Morbidly Obese Person have to get in line.

Re: Another parking issue.. what do we think about those who deliberately park in the midde of two spots so that no one can park near their car?
In my younger, stupid college days, I drove a really crappy car. I was late to a class in college and some a-hole was parked like this to protect their precious car. The lot was filled and I was pissed, so I squeezed my car into the tiny space between him and a pole. I realized after the fact that I was pretty lucky my tires weren't slashed when I got back.

Right after that last snowstorm, our warehouse manager took 2 prime spots. I parked my car right behind his, went in and told him he couldn't leave until I was ready to move my car because he parked like an asshole. He was embarrassed and said he was just worried about someone dinging his car because it's 'easier' to slide in a snowy parking lot. He wound up leaving 15 minutes late that day because I wasn't ready to move my car.

I have to say that I have done this before in places where the spots are ready tight. I have 3 kids and need to be able to open both of my doors wide enough to get 2 infant seats out. I know people probably look at my crappy car and think I must just be a jerk but oh well! I really have no other choice sometimes!

I cannot stand it. I want to key their car, slash their tires and then pee on the doorhandle.
But I don't. I just shake my head and hope they get a flat on the way home for being a total douche.

The diabetes could affect his/her vision, thus making parking difficult.
Maybe she has an abusive husband at home who will beat her children if she gets a scratch on the car.

You are most certainly not a jerk & I hope you don't feel bad about this post. I really apologize, if you do. Clearly, there are some situations where people should get a pass & not everything is so black & white.

OMG someone in my complex did this tonight!!! Not only did this person take up two spots but did it in the most obnoxious way possible - he parked diagonally - front part of his truck in one spot while the back part of his truck was in the other spot...are you freaking serious?!?!?!?! Now that is an @$$hole parker!!

Garden City tickets for this!
And then the offenders have the nerve to come in with photographs showing what azzholes they are.
