Another potty ? re starting preschool and being newly trained
Doing the 3 day potty training now...starting preschool next week for the first time. Is it foolish of me to do this now, with such changes coming next week and maybe DD only being trained for a week? Or worth a shot?
The director of the school suggested I just hold off the training until Nov, when DD is settled in school. She doesn't need to be trained for school to accept her. No problem to them at all.
Just wondering wwyd?

I think it depends on the school. I trained DD a few weeks ago and she starts next week. I was worried about it on the cruise but she did just fine the whole week even with long taxi rides, the pool without swimmies etc. I think she will be fine next week.
1 week isn't that long - at DD"s school they say eh just send them with several changes of clothes. The bathrooms are literally IN the classroom so they don't have to go down a hall etc. They make they take several bathroom breaks when they wash hands etc.
I know some of the other schools weren't as "open" with it. They wanted them to be pretty much accident free or wearing pull ups. I think 1 week is pretty new even if they are doing well at home. The excitement of the kids, activities even have some who are trained for a while having accidents b.c they forget in the excitement. If she is ready why not try worst case is you have some regression.

I think it depends on how the school will handle it. Are they willing to change her if she has an accident? If they are willing to change her, then I would go for it. If they are going to call you every time she has an accident, than I think it's too soon to send her to school in just underwear. You could do the underwear/pull up combo.
How long is her day? DD wasn't potty-trained at all when she started nursery school, but for only 2.5 hours, she knew she had to wear big girl underpants.

Day will be 3 hrs and yes, they will gladly change her. They encouraged me to not even train her yet.

DD is starting school next week as well, although she's been in a school setting! I NEED to train her but they even said since a lot of the kids in her class will be older and already potty trained she may just take the lead from there which they've seen so I'm waiting for the first few weeks of school to begin and see if she takes the initiative if not, I'm doing pottty training boot camp ASAP
