Another quick (stupid) question about the glucose test tomorrow....
I hope this doesn't sound REALLY dumb .. Some of you earlier said you can't have water between taking the drink and getting your blood taken an hour later...
Since I will be fasting in the morning... can I at least drink in the morning BEFORE the drink?!
I feel like this is a stupid question

I didn't drink anything the morning of....It's not a stupid question....LOL....I ask so much questions before I went for this stupid test !

If you don't want to truly fast then you can have something to drink other than water. I think I just had water with my vitamins.

I was allowed to sip on water for both my 1hr and 3hr glucose tests. The only thing drinking water can possibly do is lower your sugar(and it would have to be a lot of water). Obviously it didn't help my situation as I failed them both!

i didn't fast before mine, even though it was first thing in the AM. so i had a bottle of water before i went. then when i got there i was told no water between drinking the orange stuff and having my blood drawn. so i was very glad i had my water before i went.

My test was at 10:30, I had tons of water and some eggs for breakfast before the drink.
If you have GD, no amount of water is going to change your #s
