another shower question...this time regarding food
so, I am just about to the point when I say "eff it" and have the party catered.
I have NEVER had a party catered in my home before so this is kind of new territory.
here is my problema.
Where we live upstate is not the hotbed of the culinary world. There are tons of chain restaurants and wannabe chain restaurants and many of them cater, but I am not a big fan.
I haven't really come across a place that I would want to get food from....so, I was thinking if it would be too crazy to get the food catered from a place in the city and have it driven up to the house.
food is very important to me. I cannot serve my guests something I feel is sub par. I CANNOT.
but at the same time, I am not sure if having it driven up 1.5 hours is the right thing either.
I am taking total control of the food situation to ensure nothing goes fubar. but now I have this decision to make and it's unchartered territory for me.
on the other hand, if any of you know of a DYNOMITE (and I mean DY-NO-MITE) place to cater nice salads, good cold foods etc...in the HUDSON VALLEY area, please share.
thanks for reading. I am scattered. we have so much going on right now. I hate this feeling.

No specific help for a place here (don't know the area), but why don't you research wedding caterers? I would think that would be the best way to find a good caterer to do your shower.

Re: another shower question...this time regarding food
I was just telling the bomb about Blue Mountain.
it's about an hour north of us, so I am going to call to see if they deliver.
New Paltz is a bit closer...maybe 40-45 minutes. I'll check them out too.
THANKS!

Where are you? DH's family owns a restaurant in Yorktown Heights (1 hour north) and Croton. They cater parties. The food is the best. I will be having my shower up there at the restaurant.
