My mom always loved the name Lisa...and when my parents got married in the early 60's they said they would name me Lisa.

Well go figure that in 1965, it turned out to be the most popular name!!

I didnt like my name growing up in school...because I was just another Lisa but now I dont care!!

I love my name - Deborah. I, even, love the way it is spelled. I don't, however, like it when someone calls me "Debbie", even, though, I introduce myself as "Deborah". Drives me crazy. "Debbie" was fine when I was a child. I'm a little "long in the tooth" now to be called that. My husband's name is Joseph - not a big fan of it.

I like my name, Michelle.

My last name sounds similar to my first name and starts with an "M".

I made a call for work yesterday and the woman told me, wow- I love your name

ETA: DH's name is ethnic and a lot of people have a hard time pronouncing it. He goes by Alan for work. I think that name is fine.

If I had to name myself, it wouldn't be Nicole.

I hate Rich's name. He's a junior, too...so it just complicates things. After experiencing the difficulties, I wouldn't dream of naming a kid a Jr. or III.

I love my first name... I'm named after my grandfather. I despise my middle name.

DH's name is fine, pretty common - Michael. He was adamant about not having a Jr. He said that every child should have their own name.

when i was younger, i always had to explain my name to people...they always think dani is short for danielle. and then when i said, no just dani, theyd be like, your a boy??? hello!! i didnt look like a boy! so i got into the habit of saying dani, d-a-n-i. it clears it up from the start! yet people still call me danielle sometimes...

i love my name now. its different, and very fitting for me. i actually would love to name any daughter i have with a boyish name.

I didn't like my name when I was younger but now I do. I HATE when people call me Becky though. Only family gets away with that.

I like DH's name - Eric. But I won't name any children after either of us. Friends of DH named their son after him, but I've never felt the urge for any juniors.

Our child will be named for my grandfather and father if it's a boy (and DH's deceased sister, since her name is the feminine of my grandfather's name) and if it's a girl she'll have my grandmother's middle name as her first name. Still not sure about the middle name though.

I love my first and middle names! I always have! I think my middle name is so unique.

My husband's first and middle names are common - and commonly put together.

We will be naming our children Mary and Kevin.

Women's names in my Mother's family are tradition - for the first and second born girls of the first born girl. Let me know if you can follow that.

If God blesses us with a son, I want him to have his father's name.

I like my name (Brianne). I like my husband's name (Brian). I wouldn't mind my children having either of our names (although I do think it would be weird having a daughter with the same name) and I would be fine if someone wanted to name their child after me.

I do like my name, Christine, although I usually go by Chris.

My S/O's name is Robert...it's Ok, he's called Bobby by everyone except his family. They use full names all the time in his family.

I was supposed to be Kathleen up until the minute I was born. My grandfather died 4 months before I was born, and then my mother decided at the last minute to change the name she had picked. My grandmother was so surprised when she got to the hospital and saw me and the name.

I like my name, I prefer my middle name. My mother intended for me to be called by my middle name, but it never really happened. I think Rachel is such a lovely, pretty name. I like it.

My husband is John. Talk about BORING. We call him a nickname though...I never call him John, never.

HATED my name growing up.
Either I was teased that it's a boy's name or some adult would say, "Oh Marlo Thomas" Meanwhile I had NO CLUE who that lady was.

Now, I LOVE it.

DH's name is super eithnic. I like it becuase it's different and flows w/ his last name. Whenever I say it people go "WHOA that's Italian"

I love my name - Suzanne. My middle name is my parent's grandmothers' names combined (Mary and Resa = Maresa), so I always liked that too.

DH's name = (Matt). I feel like everyone I meet is Matt or Mike or Brian. I wouldn't go Matt Jr, cause I grew up with my brother being a Jr, and it was really annoying for my mom

I hated my name growing up. I wanted to be a Lisa or a Jen.
Now, I love it! Actually when I got to HS I started liking it.
There are not too many Dawn's around.
My middle name is Ann and I LOVE that name.

I love DH's name..Gregory Robert.
We both agreed not to name our DS Gregory (I LOVE that name) DS didn't want a JR so we have Bryan Gregory.

My first name is okay, but it's very dated at this point. It was popular in the 60s and 70s, but no more. My middle name is better--it's a classic name that I love. It's one we are considering for our baby, if she is a girl.

DH isn't crazy about his name, but I like both his first and middle name. He doesn't want the baby named after him though, he wants the baby to have his own name.

I like my name- Nicole- I am named after my grandmother, Nicoletta, I wish my parents would have given me the full name- Nicoletta rather than shortening it to Nicole...

DH has a very common spanish name- he was born and raised in Ecuador- his name is Carlos- His father's name is Carlos too- THat's why I don't love it- I hate saying to MIL, no, not your Carlos, my Carlos- or not my Carlos, your Carlos- His Family calls him by his middle name- a nickname of it, but I can't bring myself to do it because I really don't like his middle name... oh well...

I'm not over the moon with my name but it's OK. I definitely don't dislike it-- it just is what it is. I never actually thought much of it before b/c there's not much I can do about altering it lol lol.

I love DH because I love HIM and who he is but I'm really not a fan of his name in general. When I met him I was like "oyyyy Vinny???" but then when I got to know him it changed my view and "first thoughts" of the name when I now hear it... Because I love him obviously- so now hearing Vinny just makes me think of him which is nice... But I would never name my child that-- and Vinny himself agrees that he would never name his child that... Being teased with "Vinny the ____" (mean word for italian people, starts with a G, rhymes with Vinny) is NOT something he wants his kids to have to deal with.

I've never really loved or hated my name. I guess its because so few people actually call me by my real name. I'm so used to being called by several nicknames that I have. Only DH calls me Penelope.

I have always liked my name because of where it came from It's sentimental ~~~~~~~~~

My Mom was a teen volunteer in a state home & met a little girl with Downs Syndrome......her name was Valerie. Eventually, she was taken as a foster child by my Mom's family.

Valerie had an aunt & young cousin who would visit her at her foster families home.

Valerie died when she was 7. Her cousin asked my mom out on their first date on the steps of the funeral home when they were about 17 years old.

My mom eventually married Valeries cousin!

So my mom & dad named me after her!!!



DH's name I could take or leave. Most people get it wrong (even his mothers oldest friend sends Christmas cards with the wrong name on it!!!!!!!!). His mother choose a name with one syllable so her children could not have a nickname.....they could only be called their given name ............



I would not name any children after either of us though.
My name came to me from a special person and for special reasons (THANKFULLY mom talked dad out of naming me Sunshine instead!!).
And I don't think DH wants a Jr.

Christine- My name is ok- very popular growing up but now I don't hear it as much. I hated it with my middle and maiden name though- it was so popular I went to school with 3 other girls with the same first and last name. I also got my credit screwed up by someone with my name and ss number one off!
I love my married name for that and many other reasons.

My DH is Graham- I love his name- so different. It also has one of the best descriptions I have ever read in a baby book- it was all glowing about it.
