Any advice on giving medicine to a toddler?
My DD (18 months old) is on antibiotics and it's a battle every morning and night whenI try to give it to her. I've tried everything - putting it in ice cream, yogurt, etc. and she always notices and spits it out and refuses to eat any more.
What has worked for you and your kids?
Thanks!

As harsh as it sounds, I would have to pin DS down and make him take it. It only took a few times before he realized I mean business and haven't really had any problems since. I usually allow him to have a sweet drink (juice etc) afterwards as a reward for taking the meds.

Re: Any advice on giving medicine to a toddler?
its tough... DD tries to spit it out a lot, so as hard as it is we put her on her changing table or one of lays her down on our lap. I usually hold her arms and DH gives her the medicine, very little at a time and squirts it towards her cheek. If they really spit, I have tried squeezing her cheeks together to make sort of a fish face and that inhibits them from spitting (ped told me this). It sounds worse than it really is... Chloe doesn't cry and she doesn't really seem to mind, she's more stubborn good luck
