time out advice/toddler hitting
21 month old has started hitting me. only me, no one else. also kicking, and i am 8 months pregnant. also has major temper tanturms with me, but she's an angel with everyone else, in cluding nanny. advice? we never did time outs with her, never really needed too, but i think i'm going to start. so- where do you put them? i wont put her in crib, dont have a PNP. i think if i jsut put her in corner, she wil walk away. do you think she senses baby is cming? we havent really talked about it, i tell her shes going to have a new baby, btu i dont think she gets it. and, i did absolutly nothing to prepare for baby, so shes NOT reacting to a new nursery and so on.

Re: time out advice/toddler hitting
We put Maddie in the corner and literally stand with our back to her, essentially *holdinh* her in the corner. We don't talk to her at all while she's in there.
Lately I've been putting her there and expecting her to stay. Sometimes she does, other times I have to either keep replacing her, or revert back to blocking her into the corner.
The key is to be consistent and to not engage her while she's being "punished".
We only do corner if she hits us or the dog, or if she pulls the dogs tail.
