Any BTDT moms go into labor at work? Question.
I am 36W1D...getting closer and closer to the end. I am extremely paranoid about going into labor while I am at work! I am planning on working till 39 weeks...and I drive 1.5 (sometimes 2 hours) each way to and from work. DH works closer to home so it really wouldnt make sense for him to come and pick me up if I went into labor.
If I DID happen to go into labor at work...when would I know it was time for me to leave? Do you think I would make the car ride home? Any suggestions or advice?

Not me but a good friend of mine was on her way to work (on the train), when her water broke, She got off at the next stop called an ambulance and two hrs later her son was born.
I think if you are in labor you probably should go home in the beginning and not wait.

That's crazy! Yes, I would definately want to go home in the beginning if I am in labor at work...I am just worried that I wouldnt actually know I was in labor until I was in excruciating pain or my water broke. Then I probably wouldnt be in the position to drive home. I really hope this dosn't happen.

Re: Any BTDT moms go into labor at work? Question.
I didn't, but one of my coworkers did (before I was here). Here water broke at work. She left right after that.
I would say if you are starting to have contractions, and they are fairly consistent, to leave.
If your water breaks, definitely leave. Make sure you have some towels in your car that you can put on the seat.
If you are really in pain and are going to have the baby almost immediately, I would think someone would be in their right mind at work to call an ambulance.
That said, I am sitting here at work, at 39 weeks today...nada. With DS, I worked up until I was induced at 41 weeks. So you never know what will happen.

Oh this is a fear of mine too! I commute on the subway and although it's a short trip (only 4 stops) I am starting to get paranoid that my water will break on the train and it will be that ONE day that there are like signal issues and the trains are stopped! I'd rather go into labor at work b/c we have our own police dept and I KNOW those guys will get me to my hospital ASAP!
