BTDT moms: returning to work earlier than anticipated
Let me start by saying that I can do a bulk of my work from home and would need to run into the office on a limited basis and I can also set a schedule of when to go visit clients for the most part (I hold a social work position). With that said, I initially was not planning to return to work until sometime in March.
However, DS is such a good baby and we really could use the $$$$$ I am considering returning sometime in February. Am I out of my mind?!!!

No matter what...do what's best for your family and it will all work out. Good Luck!
I went back to work at 7 weeks and we managed well..I miss him terribly but we get through it...he's happy, healthy and loved...and he knows it. That's all I can ask for.

absolutely not. If DS is a good baby, I assume he naps well and if you can do work from home and make extra money why not?
I remember being on maternity leave and there were hours and hours during the day where DS was napping and I was on the computer ALL DAY long (on LIF mostly ) and bored out of my mind bc it was the dead of summer and way too hot to take him for walks.
If i wasn't getting paid and had the options you do, I would definitely go for it!!

If you can work from home for the most part, this is the best time to do it...when they are infants, and really don't need to be entertained!!

This is the best part about making that decision. My DS was the same and it made all the easier. I knew he would be fine and he was so easy going and happy I never once dealt with seperation anxiety. Good Luck!

I went back to work about 2 weeks early after my 2nd for the same reason. My son was also an easy baby so it made the decision a lot easier.

I did this because my disability was denied I took 7 weeks of vacation 1 of those weeks unpaid. I also work from home or on the road so it has been ok. I do still need to hire a babysitter to get back up to my previous level
