BTDT moms: did alumentum work for you?
DD has been inconsolable for a few days, found small amounts of blood in her poop, and we've now switched her to alumentum as of this morning due to a likely milk protein allergy of some degree. She seems to be doing better so far, but I'd love to hear from some BTDT moms. I did some searching on here last night and I know the next step is rx formula and probably a visit to the ped GI so I'm really hoping this works. <<crossing fingers>>

My Ds isnt on alumentum, but is on nutramigen, which is almost the same formula just made by enfamil instead of similac. We noticed a difference within just a few days.

It did not work for us but DS had a very large amount of blood in stool and is now on Neocate ( and blood is gone). From what i hear it works for MANY people and you should see a difference in 48hrs. Good luck!!! Hope it works well for you! FM me if you have any ?'s

Nutramigen has worked for his milk allergy and blood in poop...but his acid reflux is another issue! UGH

No, it didn't work for us. Her allergy was more severe and she needed Neocate, a prescription formula.

Yes. it took a few weeks for the other formulas we tried to be fully gone. but Alimentum has greatly helped DS. He is 15 weeks now and been on it since a week old.
we're going to try weaning him off it soon b/c the dr. doesnt think he needs to be on it his whole first year.

Yes, it worked for us, but we have an allergist appointment next week... I think something in the formula is doing bad things to his skin....
It did help with tummy issues, though!

It worked for us after trying a couple of formulas. DS became less fussy and lless "colicky." He became an easier baby. We switched bc he was spitting up so badly and bc the other formulas made him gassy. The GI dr said he likely had a milk sensitivity but no blood in his poopie. The spitting up virtually stopped and he's not gassy at all. He's 4 months now and doing great. Hope it works for you.

Thanks ladies. DD did manage to actually get some sleep last night so I'm cautiously optimistic. I miss the sweet little baby I brought home from the hospital before the downhill slide began!

My dd was just diagnosed with a milk protein allergy as well and was put on alimentum about a week ago...it is like night and day...she is having normal poops again (she was having diarahhea with some blood) doesnt spit up anymore and is less cranky...
it helped her alot and i hope it helps your little one too
