Any experience with Antigen/Antibody issues in pregnancy?
Just looking for some BTDT experience here.
Long story short, my husband is antigen E and antigen c positive. I am negative for both and was already sensitized to E during my last pregnancy with my son so I have antibodies to E. I am being monitored, having monthly tiders to watch my antibodies but I was curious if anyone has gone through this (even with other blood antigens?)
I know that worst case scenerio, we are looking at Hemolytic Anemia which could result in post pardum transfusions for the baby or umbillical transfusions during pregnancy or early delivery.
I am seeing both a perinatal practice and my ob.
Thanks in advance!

Not a BTDT, but just wanted to say sorry you have to deal with this! Is there a way to type the baby in utero or is it just a wait and see kind of thing? Good luck to you...

we can do an amnio but there is risk of exposing the baby further to antibodies.
i wish i knew DH's genotype, but they are treating me as if they baby is positive anyway. if my tiders rise, we ill likely have to do an amnio.

You mean DS? I would guess he only has antigen c since that is what you have the antibody against. Better to be safe anyway and assume the baby has both.

i meant DH, whether he is Ee or EE letting me know the probibility of this one being positive or negative. I know that Jack is positive E since I formed antibodies to his blood at some point during my last pregnancy. I do not have c antibodies (yet) so I haven't been exposed. Maybe jack is E positive but c negative? who knows - this all makes my head spin!
