ANy migraine sufferers?

I usually take relpax for migraines but that will be a distant memory for the next 9 months.

I had one so bad last night I thought I was going to have an aneurysym (sp)
I puked like twice from it and the pain and pressure was so bad I could not even fall asleep. Tylenol does crap LOL

Any relief without harmimg the baby? I will stand on one foot naked and jump up and down while singing The Star Spangeled Banner if you would tell me it might help Chat Icon

Seriously, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I cannot take another night like last night

Re: ANy migraine sufferers?

I'm a migraine sufferer and had ONE bad one since being PG. They say that headaches get better during pregnancy and I guess it's true to a point. I still get regular headaches and have regularly used the crappy Tylenol we are allowed throughout the pregnancy. If you feel one coming on just lay down if you can and try to nap it off...there's really nothing else you can do! Wait 'til you get sick and want so badly to reach for the Dayquil/Nyquil or whatever and realize you can't...it's hard!

omg yes I get the worse migraines. There isn't much we can do medicine wise. I try and take the tylnol when i feel it starting, then a glass of regular soda for the caffeine and a cold compress on the back of ur neck and a warm one on ur forehead. Rest is the only thing mixed with this. It hasn't taken the pain away but it dose subside it a bit. Hth Chat Icon

Re: ANy migraine sufferers?

My migraines have only gotten worse since getting pregnant. My neurologist first tried Tylenol with codene (sp?) which was a joke and did absolutely nothing. THen he tried Percocet which was not good on my stomach, I was getting sick from that whenever I would take it. Then I was telling my OB all this and he said I can just keep taking my Imitrex (what I was always using before I got pregnant) bc the stress that my body was going through with the migraines would probably be more harmful then the medicine. And he said there's no studies that show any harm between Imitrex and the babies. Im still going to try to put it off as long as possible when I do get one but knowing that I can take it and get the instant and constant relief that Im used to is so reassuring for me! Good luck!

Ive gotten a few BAD ones since being pregnant. The kind like your describing.. they make you have nausea, etc.

I take two tylenol and hit the BED ASAP.

Re: ANy migraine sufferers?

I'm so sorry! I get really bad migraines, but luckily I have only had two during the pregnancy so far.
My neurologist gave me a strong pain med to help. She said it was safe to take while pg, if I just take it when I really need it. So, maybe ask your doc for something for the pain...
