Any NYPD wives/employees? re insurance
DH was told he could switch our insurance in Oct. He called the NYPD med office today & the lady on the phone told him he can fill out the form in Oct but it wont go into affect until Jan?!
I know most place you can switch over in Oct so I am not sure what this lady is talking about.
I am hoping someone on here would know.

I work for the city and its true that the transfer period is 30 days starting sometime in October but it will not take affect until January.

That is correct. Dh & i are both nypd. The time to submit the forms to change is oct- nov but the new insurance will take effect jan 1st

That's just an open enrollment period , effective date is Jan 1.
