Any other moms on here have PPD?

I was diagnosed yesterday with it ! I thought it was just depression ,but when I told her all my other symptoms like anxiety attacks and heart palpatations ....she told me it was PPD ! Im sad b/c I don't totally understand what PPD is ,I just know I do get overwhelmed easily these days I was hoping any other moms on here that have it could share their experiences with it ! Like how long this lasts for and what not ! If you wan't feel free to fm me please

Oh Val I did not have it but I am SOOOOOOO glad you got it checked out with your doctor, they can HELP YOU!!!!! I know the other moms who've had it will pop on here, but to you and the girls and DH.
Who could blame you for being overwhelmed, with all you've got on your plate!!! I'm sorry it's more than that but I know you're on the right track now that you've been diagnosed. xooxoxoxo

I did not have PPD with DS, but having suffered from severe anxiety and depression since I was 8 I know what you are going through. My biggest fear is developing bad PPD after having this baby (even though i didnt get it with DS this pregnancy has been completely different thus far).

At least you went to the dr. and got help! That is the first step and the best thing you could have done rather than ignore it like so many.

If you ever need to talk just FM me I know a few mom's on here have suffered and will be a great resource for you.

I had terrible PPD, and I suffered through some suicidal moments after having my daughter. It was the most awful and dark time in my life. I have a post that I made with a link to a really fantastic website that I will bump. And if you ever need to talk, please FM me

I had it too- it was really hard to go through. I had bad anxiety for months, even after the initial depression wore off when DS was a few months old.

He is now 13 months and I feel like myself again. There is a lot of support out there,and remember you are not alone. I think it is a lot more common than people realize, and no one talks about it.
I read "down came the rain" by Brooke Shields about her PPD. I thought it was good and it helped to read it. FM if you would like to talk.

I never suffered through it but I have worked with many who have and I can tell you its gets better quickly with medication. There is a light at the end of the tunnel.
