Any other toddler's having a bath issue right now?

It basically started overnight, one night he wouldn't sit in the bath and would only stand and then a day or so later he cries bloody murder during his bath.

I read online that it is due to potty training and brushing his teeth (he knows things go down the drain and he doesn't have the awarness to know he can't slid down he drain)

How long does this stage last? How can I remedy it?

Will he go in the shower with you or DH?

He is deployed right now and I personally don't like taking 30 something lbs of slippery toddler in with me, I'm worried I'll drop him.

YES YES YES. Same thing here - she refused to sit down at first, and now, she screams bloody murder when I even approach the bath. It's a major task, and has been going on for about a month now

Have you tried the Fisher price or Crayola bath crayons? My daughter loves to color and knowing that she gets to 'decorate' mommy's bathtub has now made bath time an enjoyment again.

If you haven't tried them--- Fisher price ones on my tub rinse easier than the crayola ones but the crayola ones have brighter colors.

I have a 20 month old and we are going through the same thing now. I have even tried to take her in the shower and she screams during the shower too. I feel so bad because she is truly upset but at the same time she needs a bath. We have tried brand new bath toys, rewards, everything you can think of and nothing has worked. I pray that this stage ends soon.Chat Icon

Emily is a bit younger then Jack so the only problem we are having is that she doesn't want to get OUT of the tub! She'll stay in there for hours if we let her.

However, there are some things that she is REALLY enjoying. She loves bubble baths! She also has a TON of toys, and really loves the different pouring cups.

Maybe you can buy him some new bath toys and swap out with his old ones --- to give him something to be excited about?

Have you tried taking the bath with him? I know there are moms who do this!

When we had the same issues, I bought bath toys or a "baby" for Maddie to wash. For Joseph, GI Joe worked fine.

We did show Joseph the drain & explained where all the water went. We talked about the holes & what could go down the train & what was too big to fit down the drain to ease his fears.
