Any recommendations on everyday dishes?
Its time to replace my everyday dishes, I bought them for two kitchens ago and they just don't look right in our current kitchen/dining room. They are pfaltzgraff and have worked fine, I was just wondering if there are other brands I should be considering. I have no clue what is better for this stuff or if it is worth it to spend extra.... Thanks for your wisdom!!

Re: Any recommendations on everyday dishes?
I went with white diner (not dinner) dishes from Crate & Barrel. They're simple and I can add accent plates/glasses to them and changing linens is easy too. I love them.

Re: Any recommendations on everyday dishes?
I got a great basic white set at bloomingdales for $100
12 place settings, serving pieces
and it goes with everything- it's white plates that are kind of squarish

This is my Royal Stafford set. I love it.
You also might want to try the Corningware outlet in Carle place (in the country glen center) There are some cute sets at really good prices.

We have the Sango Blue
And green, too. Simple, love the colors and while I love plain white dishes, these popped a bit more.

This year I replaced my Pfaltzgraff set with a Corelle set. Sarah dropped a bowl on my tile floor today and it didn't break.

Re: Any recommendations on everyday dishes?
we have fiestaware it's totally durable AND collectable (they retire the colors every so often and introduce new ones). In the grand scheme of things I guess it is moderately priced- anywhere from $25-35 for a 4-5 piece place setting (some come w/ mug, some come w/ tea cup & saucer).
at this point I have something like 19 place settings.. yes, I know this is ridiculous. I also like that I can have a very simple, white kitchen filled with color.

Re: Any recommendations on everyday dishes?
Does anyone know of somewhere I could read a comparison on the durability of each brand? With a toddler in the house and another baby on the way knowing which one are strongest would be valuable to me...

I have Calvin Klein Khaki collection in Raisin (dark brown) and it's absolutely great. We've dropped the plates on counters and an area rug and haven't broken one yet. Image Attachment(s):
