Re: Any recommendations on everyday dishes?
my mom and MIL have both had corelle for YEARS ( the same sets) with NO problems.. so thats what we got when we registered for the wedding. we've had our set for over two years, and they are SOO break resistant and durable!! AND, they're coming out with a lot more modern, cute patterns, too. definitely worth checking out!

I have the Sango too ( which was sold at Fortuneoff and now is sold at Walmart, so that says it all right there) Avoid them.....All my cups are chipped already.

we have fiestaware it's totally durable AND collectable (they retire the colors every so often and introduce new ones). In the grand scheme of things I guess it is moderately priced- anywhere from $25-35 for a 4-5 piece place setting (some come w/ mug, some come w/ tea cup & saucer).
at this point I have something like 19 place settings.. yes, I know this is ridiculous. I also like that I can have a very simple, white kitchen filled with color. IMAGE
We have Fiestware as well and I LOVE it! It's so bright and cheery . I haven't dropped the plates though, so not sure about the durability factor....

Re: Any recommendations on everyday dishes?
i have two sets of corelle that i got at least 15 years ago when my son was younger. They are lightweight & durable, plus they make some really nice patterns now. I also have a stoneware set by Pfaltzgraf(sp) that we use.

I have the same ones in Slate. They are very heavy but I love them!
I LOVE this set!! They were pricey for everyday so we went with more affordable for us and these dishes are great!!

Re: Any recommendations on everyday dishes?
My next set will definitely be Corelle. When we registered, they didn't have that many nice patterns but my family has been using them for years.
They are light, hard to destruct and now they are getting better patterns. For people with children, I definitely recommend.
I have a very heavy set that is nice, but isn't wearing very well. I actually bought an extra box to make it 12 pieces and never opened it.
Next time, I'm going Corelle.

Re: Any recommendations on everyday dishes?
We have Corelle Hearthstone Chili Red Square Dinnerware Set. The set is stoneware so its not like the typical corelle dishes.

I went with white diner (not dinner) dishes from Crate & Barrel. They're simple and I can add accent plates/glasses to them and changing linens is easy too. I love them.
I have the same set and I love them as well!

I love Corelle. They are lightweight and (usually) don't break.
