Any single moms by choice here? Or use sperm donor?
Hi all!
Just looking to see if anyone is also doing fertility treatments to become a single mom by choice.
I will be starting IVF on December:)
Also, if anyone has used a sorry donor can you tell me which bank you used and why you chose that one?

HI there, not a single mom but on my last and final IVF i decided to fertilize half of my eggs with donor sperm. We used california cyrobank.

I have a friend that is a single mom by choice. She used LI IVF for her twins......yup she had twins! She has tons of family support but she would have been ok on her own too.
Not sure where she bought the sperm.

Hi. Many of the re doctors will only have a couple of sperm donor clinics for the patient to choose from. They only will offer reputable places. California cryobank is the main one that most clinics use. Fair fax or Fairfield ( not sure of the exact name) is usually another choice. I think I heard that California cryobank was more stringent with their requirements for the donors than the other bank. Good luck. I know that north shore and braverman usually pushed more for the California cryobank.

Thank you everyone! Yes, my RE recommended a few but he didn't push one over the other.
Guess I will gave to go with my instinct :)

Hi, I'm a single mom by choice. My son is 4 and I'm now trying for a full sibling (I bought and stored the same donor sperm shortly after my son was born). I used Fairfax. I don't think California Sperm is more stringent than they are. Pretty sure they are one of the top banks for that. That being said, they are very expensive too. I used Open ID so that my son can contact him at 18 if he wants to. We are in touch with about 15 half siblings right now which is awesome! We've met five siblings now. Good luck!
