Any VBAC Experiences?
We are TTCing for our second. I had a crazy l&d and ended up with an emergency c-section. While I am not totally against a second c-section I would really like to try and go vbac. I know they make you sign some sort of crazy waiver but even the American Pregnancy Association says its a very possible thing for many moms.

Re: Any VBAC Experiences?
I had a vbac in 2006. I never had to sign any type of waiver?? It wasn't a common thing at all back then. Since then, there have been many women I know of who went on to have a successful vbac.
I would discuss with your doctor, assuming the same OB would be delivering your second. One of the most important things for a vbac to be successful is knowing why you needed the c/s the first time. A lot of times, issues that arise in labor may be good indicators for how your body will react the second time.
It can be done. Wishing you the best of luck!

Any VBAC Experiences?
i had the same type of delivery. while i am not ttc yet, part of me is dissapointed i didn't get to have a natural birth. i never anticipated having to get a c section. i wouldn't be opposed to a VBAC, but they make is sound so scary with the risk of uterine rupture, etc. plus i would like to have my next baby close in age to this one. so honestly i'm scared to try for a VBAC even though i wish i had a vaginal birth.

Re: Any VBAC Experiences?
I am pregnant (due in 2 weeks) and trying to VBAC. Honestly, I was nervous about it at first but once you do some research into it you realize very quickly the likelihood of a uterine rupture is so slim and you actually run a greater risk of complications if having a C-section. Both my OB and the hospital are on board with VBACs which is obviously very important.
I am hoping I go into labor on my own and am able to do it. With my DD I elected to have a C-section because they kept insisting she would be over 10 lbs and I was nervous because they said if she got stuck, they would need to break her shoulders to get her out. So I opted for the C. Needless to say, she was only 8lbs 8oz so I would've been fine AND my water actually broke at 39 weeks just before my scheduled C. So between having no real complications and since it has been 4.5 years since I had my DD my risks for problems are low and I am a good candidate for the VBAC. And so far, the baby is measuring way smaller than my DD ever did. Just crossing my fingers I go into labor because they won't induce, at all.
I will let you know how it all goes. Hopefully I will have a successful VBAC story to share.

Re: Any VBAC Experiences?
I would have loved to vac but went to my due date with second and got very scared of the risk to the baby for rupture. I read two stories about families who had experienced rupture and I understood they were rare but the images were enough to push me to repeat cs

Re: Any VBAC Experiences?
I had a VBAC in 2010 (18 months after a c-section) and never had to sign a waiver. It went as smoothly as possible - and I was even 9 days late!
It was an absolutely incredible experience and I highly suggest speaking with your OB to find out if you are a good candidate and if the hospital you want to deliver at supports VBACS. I was at Stony Brook and all the nurses and OBs I dealt with were very excited for me when they found out I was trying to VBAC
